Wellington Advocacy, a leading full-service public affairs firm, serves as the premiere destination for top political professionals in Canada from across party lines looking to leverage their unique expertise and skillsets in the private sector following their political careers.
Zita joins Wellington Advocacy after serving in a number of senior leadership roles in the Trudeau government, including as Director of Issues Management and a seasoned Advisor to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Zita has also served as Chief of Staff to the President of the King’s Privy Council and Minister of Emergency Preparedness, the Minister of Public Safety, and the Minister of National Defence, as well as in senior media relations roles for the Liberal Party of Canada, including during the 2015, 2019, and 2021 election campaigns. At the provincial level, Zita has served in numerous leadership roles under former Liberal Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne, including as Director of Media Relations.
With comprehensive expertise in government relations, strategic communications and public policy, Zita brings to Wellington Advocacy an extensive political and media network, as well as a specialized understanding of the Liberal government policy landscape after serving over sixteen years in senior political roles at both the federal and provincial levels.
Zita’s practice will focus on providing government and public relations counsel to companies, nonprofits and brands seeking strategic public affairs support in Ottawa. This work will complement Wellington Advocacy’s well-established Trade practice and further expand its impact for clients seeking to navigate public policy in the nation’s capital.

Zita holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in European Studies from the University of Toronto.
